OUR WORK EXPERIENCE PROGRAM IS OPEN!
Habitat’s Work Experience program allows you to help families in your community gain access to affordable home ownership while you learn transferable skills to strengthen your resume.
Work Experience Volunteers commit to 10 shifts over a 3-month period in our ReStores. Upon completion you will receive a certificate to include in your resume. This certificate details the hours you volunteered, tasks completed, and includes comments about your work ethic, communication skills, and punctuality.
ReStores sells new and gently-used building materials and home improvement items that have been generously donated by the public. Work Experience at ReStore helps volunteers to strengthen the Habitat program while helping the environment by diverting items from landfills. Learned skills may include: visual merchandising, product knowledge, and customer service. There are four locations in Edmonton.
- All personal protective equipment (PPE)
- All tools, equipment, and lunch
- Hands-on training

We understand that not everyone is able to commit to 10 shifts. For a more flexible option, consider becoming a Community Contributor! If you volunteer with us for 5 shifts in a 12 month time period, we can provide a Letter of Contribution, detailing your contribution to Habitat for Humanity.
