EDMONTON – For the ninth year a local home builder has announced their support of the Habitat program and donated a home to Habitat for Humanity. Qualico, in partnership with Pacesetter Homes, is donating a home in the community of Devon. Since the inception of Habitat Day in 2010, there have been 33 homes donated to the Habitat program.
“Habitat relies on the generosity and innovativeness of forward-thinking community leaders like those at Qualico and other local home builders and developers,” said Karen Stone, President & CEO, Habitat for Humanity Edmonton. “It’s truly amazing that 33 homes have been donated through the Habitat Day initiative. Habitat is truly grateful for our partnership with our home builders and developers.”
This year Qualico has stepped up to help a family achieve strength, stability, and independence through affordable home ownership. Their donated home will be the first Habitat home in the community of Devon.
“Qualico is proud to sponsor Habitat Day in the Capital Region,” said Shane Erickson, Regional Vice President, Northern Alberta, Qualico. “Over the years we have experienced first-hand the tremendous impact Habitat for Humanity has had on so many families. In addition to the satisfaction we glean from presenting a family with keys to the home they help build, our employees take great pride from working alongside the benefiting families and many generous trades and suppliers who participate in constructing these homes. Habitat for Humanity is a wonderful organization to partner with, and we are privileged to be able to host Habitat Day for 2019.”
Habitat also wishes to thank the Leduc Regional Housing Foundation for their support of the Habitat Day initiative.
Habitat’s home ownership program would not be possible without strong community partners like Qualico. Habitat is grateful for the business leaders in the capital region who have spearheaded and sustained the Habitat Day initiative since 2010. The home builder community has been an integral part of Habitat’s success and has played a significant role in helping Habitat Edmonton become the largest Habitat affiliate in Canada.
