Landscaping for Habitat for Humanity Edmonton is just plain fun! You’re outdoors in the sunshine, using rakes, pushing wheelbarrows, laying sod, painting fences, watering grass and digging holes. You experience the joy of watching a lawn come together for a deserving family in our community.
Tasks may include:
- Planting trees and shrubs
- Painting fences
- Installing mulch
- Watering or mowing grass
- Laying sod
- Light carpentry projects
Shifts run from 8:45 am – 3:45 pm and are available Tuesday to Saturday. Landscaping days depend on the weather, so please understand that shifts may be cancelled due to weather.
We ask that all landscaping volunteers bring their own work gloves, water bottle, sunscreen, and a hat. If you volunteer with our Landscaping Team for five shifts over the summer, you’ll receive a landscaping t-shirt!
*IMPORTANT* – landscaping sites are considered a “construction site.” Volunteers are not permitted on site in sleeveless shirts, open-toed shoes, SHORTS, capris, leggings, or dresses.
